Two Kiwis return home from Cricket World Cup

The New Zealand cricket team participating in the ICC Cricket World Cup in India will be short of two staff members.

Dayle Shackel, the physiotherapist for the team, and trainer Bryan Stronach are returning to New Zealand to be with their families after the recent Christchurch earthquake extensively damaged their properties.

The Black Caps manager Dave Currie told Radio New Zealand that Stronach has returned to be with his pregnant wife, and Shackel’s returning to support his family.

Radio New Zealand confirmed that the New Zealand flag will fly at half-mast during the Black Caps match against the defending champions, Australia, in Nagpur.
